- For her Master's in Fine Arts degree at Hamline University, Connie presented her Critical Essay under the direction of faculty advisor, Dr. Gary D. Schmidt. Her paper title is almost as long as the paper itself: "Strategies Used to Portray Religious Characters in the Realism Genre as a Major Identifying Element in Selected Middle Grade and Young Adult Novels."
